Our Canadian Vasectomy Reversal Patients

This page, written by Sheldon Marks, MD, highlights many of the reasons why so many of our vasectomy reversal patients from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec and throughout Canada as far as Newfoundland, travel to ICVR for their vas reversal – so they can have the highest success rates.

We are one of the world’s only full time, vas reversal only “Center of Excellence” with a proven, published success up to 99.5 % (1) for vas-to-vas connections, two microsurgeons with more than 7000 patients from every state in the US and more than 85 countries around the world.

Because we are able to achieve world record successes as far out as 42 years from vasectomy, the number of years since your vasectomy is not usually a major problem (2). Plus, if needed, we can perform an epididymal bypass with high success rate of 70 to 90% at no additional charge.

When couples do the research, they will discover that there are a number of excellent, highly respected vas reversal doctors throughout Canada that will do an excellent job, such as Dr. Keith Jarvi, Dr. Peter Chan, Dr. Kirk Lo, Dr. Ethan Grober and many more. Even with that, why do so many from throughout Canada choose to come to ICVR for a vas reversal?

Vas reversals are all we do!

“ICVR is focused on one purpose, one goal – to give each patient the
highest vasectomy reversal success rates anywhere and the most amazing
medical experience they have ever had or will ever have.”
Sheldon H. F. Marks, MD

Every member of our vas reversal team is dedicated to give each patient the most attentive care before, during and after the reverse vasectomy. We are not distracted by care for other non-reversal issues such as bladder, kidney problems, prostate cancer or enlargement, kidney stones or masses or infections.

Some of the many reasons why so many choose Dr. Marks and Dr. Burrows for their vas reversal:

– An all-inclusive, “no surprise” price
No doctors-in-training are involved in the care or surgery
Sperm banking, at no additional cost
– We do not use general anesthesia with rare but very serious risks! (3,4). Instead, our patients sleep comfortably with mild IV sedation so the procedure and recovery is pain-free! We have discovered that the majority of men don’t even request a single Tylenol afterwards.

Plus, each doctor limits his practice to only one vas reversal each day, so that each patient can know that he will get our full attention to detail. We are not in a hurry to get to the next surgery nor are we fatigued from earlier vasectomy reversals.

Dr. Marks is proud to be one of only a handful of top experts that actually teaches (with many of the New England doctors listed above) other doctors advanced surgical techniques and tips, as well as writing a textbook (5) and a certification course on vasectomy reversals. Plus, he has a microsurgical instrument he invented named after him, the “Marks Vas Cutting Forceps,” which is used all over the world!

With so much at stake, why settle for anything less than the very highest chances for success?
