Why Men from Sacramento and Surrounding California Communities come to ICVR for Their Vasectomy Reversal

This page, by vasectomy reversal expert and author Dr. Sheldon Marks, addresses why so many of our vas reversal patients do their research and chose to come to ICVR in Tucson, Arizona from Sacramento, Davis, Elk Grove, Rosemont, Modesto, San Francisco and throughout California for their vasectomy reversal.

With more than 7000 patients from every state in the US and more than 85 countries around the world, our full-time, vas reversal only program is a leading “Center-of-Excellence.” Vasectomy reversals are all we do, so we are not distracted caring for other aspects of men’s health and urology

The International Center for Vasectomy Reversal, ICVR, is one of America’s top vasectomy reversal centers because of our proven, published success rates of up to 99.5% for vas-to-vas connections (1).

Dr. Marks and Dr. Burrows have shown that the number of years is NOT a problem for most men (2), as we have successful vas reversals as far out as 42 years from vasectomy, the world record who grew up and recently had a daughter of her own. We perform microsurgical multilayer vas reversals Monday to Friday as one of the top destinations for couples that understand there is no reason to settle for anything less than the highest success rates.

“The entire team here is focused on one purpose, one goal – to give each and every patient the absolute highest vasectomy reversal success rates anywhere with the most personalized experience that begins with the reversal.”
Sheldon H. F. Marks, MD

We do not use general anesthesia with the rare though serious risks. Just the same, our doctors do not use the “handful of pills” approach where we can’t control if the medications are absorbed and metabolized too fast or too slow. Instead, use focused, customized “Micro-Pulse TM ” mild IV sedation so our patients are relaxed and sleep comfortably, pain-free (3). In fact, most men don’t even ask for a single Tylenol afterwards! Compare this to so many where the patients are sent home with a prescription for oral narcotics.

Many couples that do research will discover that most doctors that perform vas reversals are actually not true experts. This means that they haven’t mastered the critical microsurgical skills necessary for the vas reversal or provide critical aftercare. Surprisingly, many are not even trained in urology and urologic microsurgery, one of the most technically challenging surgeries in all of medicine.

Of course, there are several highly respected world-class vasectomy reversal experts in the region who we know and respect, including Dr. Raul Clavijo and Dr. Ed Karpmann.

Couples often ask, “why should anyone consider ICVR and not just choose a reverse vasectomy doctor near me?”

Experience matters!

The ICVR doctors perform the entire vas reversal, and since we don’t let any doctors-in-training participate in the surgery or aftercare, each patient can trust that he will get the very highest vas reversal success rates.

We also perform many redo vas reversals, usually a few each week, when the first reversal elsewhere has failed and patients then take the time to do their research to find the best chances for the highest success rates.

-Each doctor here limits his practice to only one vas reversal a day. This way the doctor is not tired from earlier surgeries, nor does he feel pressure to move fast to get to the next cases
– We offer an all-inclusive, no surprise fixed package price. We do not charge more for more complicated bypass vas reversals
– Patients are given both doctors’ personal cell phone numbers for 24/7 after-hours access
– Sperm banking is available at no additional cost, saving patients thousands of dollars

Our motto says it all, “We Make Men Dads AgainTM.”
